Baby Showers go hand in hand with Halloween and Father's Day as inventions created to encourage spending. The only thing men should expect on Father's Day is a nice slow, sloppy blow job.
The other American invention disgrace is Cinqo de Mayo, which has been claimed to be a Mexican celebration, but is actually nothing of the sort. Nothing of any note happened in Mexico and Americans go out and spend a fortune on shit beer and dodgy Mexican food at restaurant chains because they can't be bothered to check what they are celebrating.

It doesn't matter where it started, SAme as Halloween. Both became part of USA culture and our moronic young people copy these things from Friends and similar nonsense.
It is all very tacky, and reflects badly on the idiots that copy these things. I have heard that some British people even celebrate Thanksgiving, It's pathetic.

I went to one of these last year. Never heard of it before and didn't want to go, but was forced to. It was just hours of utter, self-indulgent bollocks (by the mother), a total waste of everyone's time. I'd rather watch paint dry, wait for the kettle to boil, even watch Millwall play.
